Dental Services We Offer at Our Pullman Office

Emergency Dentist in Pullman

Tooth emergencies always seem to happen at the worst possible time — Saturday afternoon, late on a Thursday, right before a holiday. When you need an emergency dentist in Pullman, call us first. We hold back same-day spots specifically for urgent situations, and we’ve gotten a lot of Armstrong residents in on the same day they called. That’s just how we operate.

Some people try to tough it out, hoping whatever’s wrong will get better on it’s own. Sometimes it does, but alot of times it just gets worse. If you’re in pain or something looks wrong, just pick up the phone. We’ll be straight with you about whether you need to come in immediately or if it can wait a couple days.

Dental Emergency

Not every dental problem is a dental emergency, but some things really can’t wait. Knocked-out tooth? That’s a true emergency — you’ve got maybe 30 to 60 minutes to save it. Severe pain that won’t stop, a tooth that got knocked loose, major swelling around your jaw — those are all situations where you should call us right away instead of waiting to see how you feel tomorrow.

We’ll talk you through what to do over the phone while we figure out when we can see you. If you knocked out a tooth, keep it wet — milk works great, or just hold it between your cheek and gum. Don’t try scrubbing it clean. Every minute counts with dental emergencies, so don’t sit around thinking about it.

Root Canal in Pullman

We know the words “root canal” make a lot of people nervous. It’s probably the most misunderstood procedure in all of dentistry. The truth is, a root canal doesn’t cause pain — it relieves the pain that’s already there. Most of our patients are genuinely surprised by how unremarkable the experience is.

We know — nobody wants to hear they need a root canal. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize until after they’ve had one: it doesn’t actually hurt that much. The infection is what hurts. The root canal fixes it. Most of our patients say they feel a whole lot better within a day or two of the procedure.

Dr. Fisher does root canals right here in our Pullman office. You don’t need a referral to a specialist in another city. We use modern techniques that make the whole process faster and more comfortable than what your parents probably remember. If you’ve been putting off dealing with a tooth that’s been bothering you for a while, this is probably the treatment that’s going to get you out of pain for good.

Dental Implants

If you’re missing teeth, dental implants are worth looking into seriously. They look and work like your natural teeth. They don’t move around when you eat. Unlike bridges that require shaving down healthy teeth on either side, implants stand alone. And they help preserve your jawbone, which prevents that hollow look some people get as they age.

During the consultation, we talk through all your options honestly. A lot of Armstrong folks come in thinking they’re not good candidates — maybe because of bone loss, their age, or worries about cost. We address each concern head-on. Implants aren’t the right solution for everybody, but they work for more people than you’d think, and financing options have gotten alot better over the years.

Dentures

We customize dentures for Pullman area residents who need full or partial tooth replacement. Today’s dentures are completely different from what your parents or grandparents had — they fit better, look more natural, and feel way more comfortable. We take the time to get the fit exactly right because poorly fitted dentures that slide around are miserable to live with.

If you’ve had dentures for a while and they’ve started feeling loose or uncomfortable, bring them in. Your jaw shape changes gradually over time, especially after losing teeth, and dentures need periodic adjustments. That’s totally normal and usually a pretty quick fix if you catch it before it becomes a bigger problem.

Cosmetic Dentist in Pullman

People come to us as their cosmetic dentist in Pullman for all kinds of reasons. Maybe it’s a chipped front tooth from an accident years ago, stubborn staining that regular brushing won’t fix, or teeth that are spaced weird and have always bothered them. Whatever it is, we’re not going to pressure you. We show you what’s possible, tell you what’s realistic, and let you make the call.

Veneers, bonding, reshaping, whitening — we do all of it here in Pullman. You shouldn’t need to drive to Spokane every time you want cosmetic dental work. And since we already know your teeth and how your bite works, we can give you natural-looking results instead of that obviously fake appearance you sometimes see.

Teeth Whitening Service

We offer professional teeth whitening that actually makes a difference — not those drugstore strips that take forever and barely work. Professional whitening gets you noticably whiter teeth, and we do it safely so you’re not dealing with painful sensitivity for days afterward.

In-office whitening is the quickest option — you’re done in one appointment. We also offer take-home kits with custom trays if you’d rather do it yourself on your own schedule. A lot of Armstrong residents go with the take-home option before big events like weddings or family reunions — they control the pace and love the results. Either way, we explain everything before we start.

Questions Patients Actually Ask

How do I know if I need a root canal?

The big signs that point toward needing a root canal: pain that sticks around after hot or cold goes away (normal tooth sensitivity should fade pretty quick), pain that shows up out of nowhere without any trigger, swelling or a little bump near the tooth, or a tooth that’s gotten darker than the ones next to it. A regular cavity usually doesn’t cause that type of persistent pain. We’ll take an x-ray and examine the tooth to know for sure — sometimes it’s not obvious just from looking, and occasionally we can’t tell until we actually open things up. We always explain what we found and what we recommend before doing any work.

Are dental implants painful?

Most people are surprised by how managable dental implant surgery actually is. We use local anesthetic during the procedure, so you don’t feel pain while we’re working — maybe some pressure, but not pain. Afterward, you’ll have some soreness and swelling for a few days, kind of like when you get a tooth pulled. Over-the-counter pain medication handles it for most people. The discomfort peaks around day two or three, then gets better pretty quickly. The healing period takes a few months while the implant fuses with your jawbone, but that part doesn’t hurt — your mouth just needs time to do its thing.

How often should I replace my dentures?

Dentures typically last 5-10 years before they need replacing, but that timeline varies based on how well you take care of them and how much your mouth changes. Your jawbone and gums keep changing shape after you lose teeth, which means dentures that fit great initially will eventually start feeling loose or uncomfortable. You’ll need periodic adjustments to keep them fitting right — that’s normal maintenance, not a sign something went wrong. If your dentures are cracking, the teeth are wearing down noticeably, or they’re slipping around even after adjustments, it’s probably time for a new set. We can evaluate yours and tell you honestly whether they’re still good or if replacement makes sense.

Does insurance cover cosmetic dentistry?

Usually no — most dental insurance plans consider cosmetic procedures elective and won’t cover them. That includes things like veneers, bonding for cosmetic reasons, and teeth whitening. But there’s some grey area. If a procedure has both cosmetic and functional benefits, insurance might cover part of it. For example, a crown on a broken front tooth would typically be covered because it’s restoring function, even though it also improves appearance. We’ll check your specific coverage and let you know what’s covered and what isn’t before we start any work. Even when insurance doesn’t cover something, we have financing options that make cosmetic work more affordable than most people expect.

Dental Insurances We Accept

Curious about whether or not we’ll accept your insurance here at our Lewiston Office? Some of the major insurance companies we work with are Aetna, Delta Dental, Cigna, Humana, MetLife, and Principal. That’s not all though, we can work with a wide range of dental insurances. Give us a call to find out if we accept your coverage.

Our Promise To You!

We know visiting the dentist isn’t everyone’s idea of a good time, but we love it and will do our best to make this dental visit the best one you’ve ever had! Whether you come for your regular cleaning or need more extensive care such as implants, gum surgery, wisdom teeth removal, root canals, or clear aligners, the team will take care of you with a smile and genuine concern for your comfort and well-being.
