Dental Services We Offer at Our Lewiston Office

Emergency Dentist in Lewiston

A cracked tooth on a Saturday morning. A kid who falls and chips a front tooth at a soccer game. Thats when you really find out how much it matters to have a dentist you can actually reach. Dr. Fisher offers emergency dentist services for patients who need same-day or urgent care — and he takes calls seriously.

For Spalding families, having an emergency dentist in Lewiston who knows your file and picks up the phone makes a real difference. You dont want to be googling around when your mouth is swollen at 7am.

What To Do In a Dental Emergency?

There’s a real difference between a dental emergency and something that can wait a day or two. Knocked-out tooth? That’s a genuine emergency — you’ve got about 30 to 60 minutes to save it if you move fast. Severe pain that won’t let up, a tooth that got knocked loose, significant swelling around your jaw or throat — these are situations where you should call us immediately instead of waiting to see how things are tomorrow.

When you call with an emergency, we’ll walk you through what to do while we figure out when we can see you. If you knocked out a tooth, keep it wet — milk works great, or just hold it between your cheek and gum. Don’t try rinsing it off. Time really matters with dental emergencies, so don’t hesitate to pick up the phone.

Root Canal Treatment

Nobody wants to hear they need a root canal. But the truth is, most people say it wasnt nearly as bad as they expected. Dr. Fisher performs root canal treatment right here in Lewiston so you dont have to drive all the way to Boise or Moscow for a specialist referral.

The goal is to save your tooth and get you out of pain as fast as possible. With modern techniques and proper numbing, most patients are back to normal within a day or two. If you’ve been putting off tooth pain hoping it’ll go away — it probably wont. Give the office a call.

Dental Implants in Lewiston, ID

Missing teeth affect more than just your smile. They change how you chew, how you talk, and honestly — how confident you feel walking into a room. Dental implants are the closest thing to a real tooth that modern dentistry offers, and Dr. Fisher has placed them for patients from Spalding to Clarkston.

Implants are a bigger investment up front, but for most people they last decades with normal care. During your consult Dr. Fisher will look at your bone density, your overall oral health, and help you figure out if implants are the right fit for your situation — no pressure, just straight answers.

Dentures

A lot of patients come in not sure wheather they need partial dentures, full dentures, or something else entirely. Dr. Fisher walks you through all of it — what each option costs, how it fits, and what to expect day-to-day. Dentures have come a long way, and a well-fitted set makes a huge difference in quality of life.

If you already have dentures that dont fit right — slipping around when you eat or talk — thats something the office can help with too. A lot of Spalding patients have driven in just for a reline or adjustment and walked out feeling way better than they have in years.

When Is It Too Late For Gum Grafting

Cosmetic Dentist in Lewiston

Not everyone’s looking to fix a problem. Some folks just want to like how their teeth look when they smile. As a cosmetic dentist serving the Lewiston and Spalding area, Dr. Fisher handles everything from veneers and bonding to smile makeovers. You dont have to go to a big city practice to get great cosmetic results.

Cosmetic work is personal. What looks great on one person might not be right for another. Thats why the consultation matters — its a chance to talk about what you want, see examples, and figure out what’s actually realistic for your teeth and your budget.

Teeth Whitening Service

Teeth whitening is one of the most popular things the office does — and one of the easiest ways to feel better about your smile fast. Over-the-counter strips just dont get you the same results as professional whitening. Dr. Fisher offers both in-office and take-home whitening trays depending on what works better for your schedule.

Coffee drinkers, tea drinkers, folks who’ve been smokers — pretty much everyone sees some staining over time. It’s normal, and it’s fixable. Most patients see a noticeable difference after just one session. Call and ask about it at your next cleaning.

Serving Spalding and Surrounding Communities

The office welcomes patients from Spalding, Lapwai, Culdesac, Orofino, and all across Nez Perce County. The drive into Lewiston from Spalding along the Clearwater is maybe 20 minutes depending on where you’re coming from — and honestly for good dental care, that’s well worth it.

If you’ve been putting off a dentist appointment because you didn’t know who to call, or because a previous experience left you with bad feelings about dental offices in general — give Jonny Fisher DDS a try. A lot of patients say they wish they’d found the office sooner.

Questions PatientsActually Ask

What happens if I ignore a toothache?

Nothing good. A toothache usually means something’s wrong — a cavity, an infection, a cracked tooth, or gum disease. If you ignore it, the problem doesn’t go away on it’s own. Cavities get bigger. Infections spread. Cracks get worse. What starts as a simple filling can turn into a root canal or even tooth loss if you wait too long. Plus, dental infections can actually spread to other parts of your body and make you seriously sick. Some people think the pain will just go away eventually, and sometimes it does — but that usually means the nerve has died, which means the infection is still there and getting worse even though you can’t feel it anymore. If you’ve got a toothache that lasts more than a day or two, call us. We’d rather catch it early when it’s easier and cheaper to fix.

Can I get a filling and a crown on the same day?

Not usually. Here’s why — if a tooth needs a crown, we first need to shape it down and take impressions. Those impressions go to a dental lab that makes your custom crown, which typically takes 1-2 weeks. In the meantime, we give you a temporary crown to protect the tooth. Once the permanent crown comes back from the lab, you come in for a second visit where we remove the temporary and cement the permanent one in place. The whole process usually requires two appointments spaced a couple weeks apart. Some dental offices have same-day crown machines, but we don’t — we work with a high-quality lab that makes crowns that fit better and last longer. The wait is worth it for a crown that’s going to be in your mouth for 10-15 years.

How long do veneers last?

Porcelain veneers typically last 10-15 years, sometimes longer with good care. They’re pretty durable — you can eat normally, you just need to avoid really hard stuff like ice or hard candy that could chip them. The main things that affect how long veneers last are how well you take care of them (brushing, flossing, regular dental visits) and habits like grinding your teeth at night or biting your nails. If you’re a grinder, we’ll make you a nightguard to protect them. When veneers do eventually need replacing, it’s usually because the edges start wearing down or the color doesn’t match your other teeth anymore. We’ll check them at your regular cleanings and let you know when they’re getting close to needing replacement.

Is teeth whitening safe for sensitive teeth?

It can be, but it depends on how sensitive your teeth are. Whitening products work by opening up the tiny pores in your tooth enamel to remove stains, which can temporarily make sensitivity worse. If you already have sensitive teeth, professional whitening under our supervision is actually safer than drugstore products because we can control the strength and give you desensitizing treatments before and after. We might recommend a lower concentration whitening gel that you use for longer, or we can do the treatment in shorter sessions spread out over time. Some people with really sensitive teeth decide whitening isn’t worth the discomfort, and that’s okay too — we’re not going to push it. But if you want to try it, we have ways to minimize sensitivity and make it more tolerable.

How long do dental implants last?

With proper care, dental implants can last 20-30 years or even longer — basically the rest of your life for a lot of patients. The implant post itself is titanium and integrates with your jawbone, so it’s extremely durable. The crown on top might need replacing eventually (usually 10-15 years depending on wear), but that’s a simple procedure compared to the initial implant placement. Regular brushing, flossing, and checkups keep them in good shape. Implants are an investment, but when you look at how long they last compared to bridges or dentures that need replacing or adjusting every few years, they often end up being more cost-effective long term.

Can I eat normally with dentures?

Yes, but there’s an adjustment period. New dentures take some getting used to — usually a few weeks where your mouth is figuring out how to work with them. Start with softer foods and gradually work your way up to tougher stuff. Some foods like really sticky candy or super hard nuts can be tricky even after you’re adjusted. Well-fitted dentures should let you eat most of what you enjoy. If you’re having ongoing problems with eating or your dentures are slipping around, come see us. That usually means they need an adjustment, and that’s a problem we can fix pretty easily.

How much does teeth whitening cost in Lewiston?

Professional teeth whitening at our Lewiston office typically runs between $300-$600 depending on whether you go with in-office treatment or take-home trays. In-office whitening is more expensive but gets you results in one visit — usually 1-2 hours. Take-home kits cost less and you do the treatment yourself over a couple weeks using custom trays we make for you. Both options work well. The results last around 1-3 years depending on your habits — coffee, tea, red wine, and smoking all affect how long it stays white. We go over pricing and options during your consultation so there’s no surprises.

Dental Insurances We Accept

Curious about whether or not we’ll accept your insurance here at our Lewiston office? Some of the major insurance companies we work with are Aetna, Delta Dental, Cigna, Humana, MetLife, and Principal. That’s not all though, we can work with a wide range of dental insurances. Give us a call to find out if we accept your coverage.

Our Promise To You!

We know visiting the dentist isn’t everyone’s idea of a good time, but we love it and will do our best to make this dental visit the best one you’ve ever had! Whether you come for your regular cleaning or need more extensive care such as implants, gum surgery, wisdom teeth removal, root canals, or clear aligners, the team will take care of you with a smile and genuine concern for your comfort and well-being.
